Working with mosaics fascinates me—it’s a delight that brings me joy and calm. I truly enjoy it to
the fullest. What inspired me to create this piece were memories from my childhood—my grandmother’s backyard filled with pomegranate trees, which we as a family enjoyed together. To this day, it remains one of my favorite fruits.
In the creation of this piece, you can observe the fruit’s growth—from flower to full ripeness. For the mosaic, I used glass, wire, beads, and the glass-on-glass technique to highlight the fruit. My desire was to express through this work the beauty and flavor of the pomegranate. It is a natural fruit with a striking interior, full of countless red seeds encased in juicy pulp that is both tart and sweet, awakening the palate.
Through my work, I hope to express a mixture of emotions—fond memories of my childhood in my grandmother’s backyard, surrounded by pomegranate trees.
