My name is Elba Cuevas. I started this journey in the mosaic art, 8 years ago; in the Atelier del Mosaico de Puerto Rico. I get inspired by the beauty of nature, the Old city architecture. I plan to continue exploring and learning new techniques to grow in this art.
This piece “Serene Sunset” shows the reflections on the water on a peaceful sunset, where the sun, the water, and the bird , all become protagonists. They coexist, bringing the sensation of calmness. And the moment of awe thru this glimpse in time, both simple and complex; captured in one scene.
I used the mirror as a base, to emphasize the theme of reflection; stained glass, wire, and stringers to mimic the colors in nature.
I would like the spectator to transport themself to the scene and feel the calmness and peaceful of this moment; and the admiration of nature.
