I began working on mosaics in 2014 under the direction and coaching of Atelier del Mosaico de Puerto Rico, headed by Luis Alberto Rivera. Among my preferred subjects and inspiration, marine and nature topics, are recurring ones. This work explores reflection not only as a visual phenomenon, but as an extension of the self. The figure in the canoe, isolated in the vastness of the sea, generates ripples that expand in circles, becoming a mirror in motion. Each stroke of the paddle creates a reflection that is not static, but constantly shifting, suggesting that our actions leave traces that multiply and return transformed. The small boat navigating swirling blue currents gives a strong sense of a journey through memories, emotions and dreams. In this way, reflection becomes a dialogue between the individual and his surroundings.
