ARLO, my neighbor’s cat was the inspiration for this mosaic. I’m always up for a challenge and interpreting this image in glass was certainly that. There wasn’t a single piece of black glass used for ARLO, so the colors were chosen for their values to create a more interesting composition. The whiskers kept me up at night until I got them right! This is exactly why I love mosaic art. Eighteen years of practice and I’m still learning something new with each project.
