My creative process is unique and inspired by bright colors, nature, simplicity, and tranquility. My brand, MuSa (meaning “muse” in Spanish), was born during a moment of reinvention in my life. That is why I decided to capture that resilience in this palm, which symbolizes strength in the face of storms and hurricanes. Just like the palm tree, no matter what adversities we face, we remain strong and unwavering. My vision is to create a fluid and realistic image that stands out from the frame. That’s why I chose to use the glass-on-glass technique for this piece. I used glass, stringers, flagstones, and sand from a beach in Puerto Rico to recreate the authentic elements of the Caribbean. As you interact with the artwork, observe the movement of the sea, and imagine the sound of waves crashing against the stones. Take a deep breath and feel the salt in the air. Imagine the sensation of the sand between your toes as you walk along the shore. Look up at the sky and feel the warmth on your face. Watch the palm fronds sway in the breeze, while the trunk remains steadfast and unmoving.
