Through the vibrant yellow of the Araguaney, Echoes of My Land explores the geography of memory. Venezuela’s national tree blooms brightest during the dry season, a testament to the strength required to thrive in harsh conditions.
In the Tabebuias of Florida, I found a familiar ghost—a golden thread connecting my present to my past. This botanical coincidence feels like a bridge between two worlds—a reminder that roots can travel, adapt, and still thrive in new soil.
Created from stained glass, beads, and found objects, this piece brings together salvaged fragments and personal keepsakes to form something whole. To deepen the connection to lineage and legacy, I incorporated handmade glass beads crafted by my mother, also an artist, and embedded trinkets from her collection, weaving her history into my own. Scattered stars and hidden details invite viewers to look closer and discover meaning beneath the surface. As the light shifts, the glass reflects and transforms—echoing the way memory, belonging, and identity evolve over time.
