I am an artist interested in exploring contrast, texture, and visual perception through glass and reflective materials. My work is influenced by observation and the way light interacts with surfaces.
For this project, I selected an image that contains reflective elements and strong visual contrasts. I was drawn to how the composition naturally divides into two different areas, creating a sense of balance between light and dark. This contrast became the central focus of my piece, allowing me to explore how reflection can connect opposing visual elements.
The artwork represents a dialogue between two spaces that coexist within the same frame. One side suggests calmness and openness through lighter tones and softer forms, while the other side conveys intensity and structure through darker colors and more defined textures. The reflective surfaces act as a transition between both sides, emphasizing connection rather than separation.
I used stained glass, enamel, and stringers to build texture and depth. The fragmented arrangement of the glass pieces enhances the reflective quality of the work and creates movement within the composition.
Through this piece, I aim to highlight how reflection not only mirrors an image, but also transforms how we perceive it. I want the viewer to notice how light, texture, and contrast interact, creating a dynamic visual experience.
