Color, texture and pattern inspire me. I love all of the unique characteristics glass brings to my mosaics, especially the iridescent and reflective qualities glass affords. I love to pull in complimentary details, to further enrich each piece. I pay great attention to the shape, size and flow of each piece of glass I hand cut. Grout also plays a contributory role in a finished piece, as I am always trying to please the eye. One can attempt to choose glass for an art project, but the decision is really made as one is in the middle of the beloved journey.
My mosaics are made using stained glass, back-painted glass, artwork-backed glass, a glass cutter, running and grozer pliers, glass grinder, grout and a wood or backer board substrate. I take pride that my skills evolved from my personal trials and tribulations, as I have poured hours of laborious love into each piece I have created.
I want to create mosaics that are intriguing and never bore the eye; that are full of energy, color and substance. Art that can be respected and appreciated for the arduous attention to detail. Art that is a touchable lifetime of beauty!
