Under the name Irid Glass Dreams, I create one-of-a-kind Tiffany-style stained glass and mixed-media work that invites viewers to slow down and sit with story, memory, and emotion. With a background spanning biochemistry and work in science and healthcare strategy, I’m drawn to structure and systems; how parts connect and how light can transform precision into something lyrical. My studio practice is hands-on from design through cutting, foiling, soldering, and assembly, often incorporating custom hand-blown antique sheet glass developed in collaboration with Monarch Glass Studio (Kansas City) to build rich layers of light and texture. This collaboration has further evolved Irid Glass Dreams into the custom sheet glass space, offering “IGD Butterfly Glass” through partner, Stained Glass Garden in Berkeley, CA, as well as through my online store, with the goal of enabling any glass artist to access incredibly unique and beautiful glass for their projects. My work has been recognized internationally by Teravarna, and I continue to evolve through new techniques and collaborations. For this show, Sherbet Zinnia, made entirely from hand-blown glass, reflects my love of plants, gardening, and the vivid flowers in my own garden.
